Trapani throbs with life, and I hope that in the consciences of people from Trapani this life is true LIFE: the life of soul, the life of principles, of  rules, of civil living… the LIFE that we found in Christ Jesus, death and resurrected, because Easter is not only the Good Friday.

The Easter is also the Sunday of Resurrection; and during 2007 Easter, faithful attention must be turned to Christ  Resurrected.

For this reason we decide to suppress the Good Friday  traditional blessing of the Sacred Groups. The Stations of the Cross indeed, will not finish in a drastic manner, like in past years but it will be a “passage”. From the sorrow of death to joy and hope  of a new LIFE.

When, on Saturday, Our Lady of Sorrow statue will be come back to Purgatorio Church too, actually closing the Mysteries Procession, no main door will be closed. The Easter of Trapani “passage” will stay open through Christ Resurrected image that will drop depicted on a sheet, it will enlighten all Christians.    

The significances of Resurrection are: a recovered respect for life, a more liveable and fraternal welfare, a true justice and legality principles, more hope for our youth, for families, for weak classes.

Easter to say to the world that the Resurrected is alive and present among us, and that we are also resurrected with Him. There is possibility of resurrection, of new life for everyone, for singles, for families, for the society… for this (our) loved city of Trapani.

In the sign of Charity, that join everyone together in Christ, we walk with joy on the street showed to us by Jesus, the street of good, of Gospel as sole rule of life. Easter 2007 will be a basic stage in our journey towards saintliness, mindful of the call that has been the guiding thread of the pastoral programme for 2007: “Blessed the one who find in You his strength and decide in his heart the Holy Journey”.
